Revelation 21:3 Note
It is amazing that the Lord would chose to dwell with mankind
forever after all the heartache and pain that we have given Him. This isn’t
because we are so lovely but because He is love (1 John 4:8, 16). God so loved
the world that He gave us His Son (John 3:16), and He will still be giving
throughout all eternity by dwelling with His redeemed.
a [with men] God and His capital city will be among people forever (Rev.
21:3-7,24-27).
b [he will dwell with them] This is the final realization of the eternal of God
for man and the earth (Zech. 2:10-11; 8:3; Isa. 52:7; Ezek. 43:7).
c [dwell with them ...] Twelve blessings for man in the New Earth:
1. God will be dwelling among them (Rev. 21:3,7).
2. God will be their God (Rev. 21:3,7).
3. God shall wipe away all tears (Rev. 21:4; 7:17; Isa. 25:8).
4. No more death (Rev. 21:4; 1Cor. 15:24-29).
5. No more sorrow (Rev. 21:4; 22:3).
6. No more pain (Rev. 21:4; Gen. 3:14-19).
7. All things made new (Rev. 21:5).
8. Plenty of water of life (Rev. 21:6; 22:17).
9. Inherit all things (Rev. 21:7; Rom. 8:17).
10. Eternal sonship (Rev. 21:7; 1Jn. 3:1-2).
11. No more curse (Rev. 22:3).
12. Freedom from ungodly neighbors (Rev. 21:8; 22:15).
